Fun Winter Events Around Sherwood, Arkansas

Kids doing a science project

Even with the holiday season finished, there are still many fun activities to do this winter in Arkansas. Here are some fun winter events around Sherwood that you can enjoy with your family.

Take a tour of a distillery

If you’re looking for an event more geared towards adults, head to the Rock Town Distillery. This distillery has guided tours throughout the year that highlight the process of making spirits, including the origins of bourbon, vodka and gin. While your children can also go on the tour, there is a delicious tasting included for those above the drinking age.

Let your kids put their scientist hats on

The Museum of Discovery regularly has Wiggle Worms classes, which teach younger children about science in a hands-on way. Each week focuses on a different topic, so they can learn something new every time they go.

Discover more about animals

Your children can learn more about different animals during the Winter Zoofari Camp 2020 at the Little Rock Zoo. Specifically, the camp teaches children about endangered animals, what zoos do to save species and how children can help. You can sign your child up for an exciting day camp on Jan. 2, 3 or 6.

We at Russell Honda hope you have an enjoyable winter season. Before heading out to these events, stop into our service department for seasonal maintenance.

Family Winter Trip Ideas

Just because it is cold and frosty outside, that does not mean you and your family can’t have any fun. In fact, some places offer the most fun when the temperatures are below freezing. Here are some family winter trip destinations you can plan this year.

  • Go to Disney World. Nobody likes standing in staggering lines in sweltering heat. You can beat both of these things by going to Disney in the winter. Since Florida enjoys a mild winter, you likely won’t even need your coat.family winter trip
  • Hit the Slopes. You don’t have to travel too far to reach some snowy slopes. Just north of Arkansas in Missouri there are two ski resorts, Hidden Valley in Eureka and Snow Creek in Weston.
  • Be an Olympian. Visit one of the former Olympic host cities, like Lake Placid, Salt Lake City, and others to try out some classic winter sports.
  • Visit National Parks. Even in the wintertime, our national parks are a spectacular sight. Take ranger-led tours, see amazing wildlife, and more all without the heat or the crowds.
  • Head to Texas. The Lone Star State offers a lot of fun for not a lot of money, making it an ideal spot for warm weather fun on a budget.
