Gaining a spot of the list is no easy feat, as Parents magazine and Edmunds.com carefully compared 300 vehicles to determine their list. They considered family-friendly features and convenience features, safety ratings, and car seat installation, as well as general performance, efficiency, value, and interior comfort.
The all-new 2018 Accord offers exceptional efficiency and handling, along with standard Honda Sensing®, which is a comprehensive suite of innovative safety and driver-assistive technologies designed to help keep you and your passengers safe while on the road.
The Honda Odyssey has long been lauded as among the best – if not the best – family minivan, and the redesigned 2018 model continues to impress. The new Odyssey offers reliable performance, plenty of comfortable seating and space for the family, available Honda Sensing®, and CabinWatch™, which is the auto industry’s first-ever rear-seat camera, allowing you to easily keep an eye on your young ones while in the driver’s seat.
You and your family can find both of these incredible vehicles when you visit Russell Honda.
If you are looking forward to the release of the all-new 2019 Honda Insight hybrid as much as we are, you are in luck. Production of the Honda Insight has officially begun. It will be ready to go this summer and will be arriving at Russell Honda in just a few months.
The Insight is being produced right here in America. The main production plant is in Greensburg, Indiana, while three Ohio plants will produce its powertrain components. Altogether, Honda invested a combined $61.5 million for these plants to prepare them for the Insight production.
“The new Honda Insight exemplifies our growing investment in the production of electrified vehicles in America and our associates in Indiana are proud to play a key role in this initiative,” said Isao Matsuzaki, president of Honda Manufacturing of Indiana. “As the lead plant for Insight production globally, we are committed to delivering the quality and reliability that our customers expect.”
With the introduction of the Insight, it will be the fifth electrified Honda model released within 18 months. It will follow the Clarity series and the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid. The Insight will be a compact sedan hybrid that will fit in the Honda lineup between the Civic and Accord.

Honda is reaching new milestones. In particular, the brand recently announced that it has one million vehicles with Honda Sensing® technology on the road right now in the US. Offering next-generation driver-assist safety technology, Honda Sensing® is an unparalleled system. Helping you to reduce damage and claim rates, this technology is the future of driving.
According to Honda, the brand will be providing Honda Sensing® technology standard on all 2022 model-year vehicles. The IIHS, Highway Loss Data Institute, and Honda recently worked together to publish scientific studies to show that Honda Sensing® is incredibly effective in reducing damage to other vehicles and property, and it can even reduce claim rates. Believe it or not, claim rates drop an average of 28% with Honda Sensing®.
“Honda dreams of a collision-free mobile society and the Honda Sensing technology has a crucial role to play in advancing us toward that goal,” said Henio Arcangeli, Jr., senior vice president of the American Honda Automobile Division. “With the rapidly growing population of Honda vehicles applying these technologies, we hope to significantly reduce collisions involving Honda vehicles within the next three to four years.”
Where To Find It
The Honda Sensing® suite includes technologies such as Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. You can find this suite standard on current models like the Clarity, the Accord, and the Insight.
If you’d like to know more about the Honda Sensing® technology, ask our team of technicians here at Russell Honda.
This May, the International Greek Food Festival enters its 33rd year of providing exceptional food and entertainment to friends from near and far. The Festival is the largest ethnic festival in Arkansas and has a long-standing tradition of being a local favorite. Mark your calendars for Friday, May 18 to Sunday, May 20, because this is a festival that you will not want to miss.
The 2018 International Greek Food Festival features food and fun for the whole family. The cuisine on offer comes from the many cultures of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, including Greek, Armenian, Romanian, and Russian. Not only will you get to experience the food of another culture, but also how food brings us together to the table. Along with the food, you can enjoy the entertainment – such as live music and dancing – and shop from the Old World Market, browsing the market’s many unique items from around the world.
There is a $3 entrance fee or, alternatively, you can donate three canned food items. In the course of the Festival’s history, it has donated almost $1.5 million to local charities, supporting the community and adding some philanthropic fun to this already exciting event.
We here at Russell Honda hope to see you at one of our favorite community events this May.
Motor Week, commonly referred to as Television’s Original Automotive Magazine is an industry leader when it comes to reviewing vehicles. That’s why it comes as no surprise that Honda recently won three 2018 Drivers’ Choice Awards from Motor Week. Specifically, the Honda Accord, Honda Civic, and Honda Odyssey won in each of their respective categories.
2018 Drivers’ Choice Awards
Motor Week awarded the Honda Civic the 2018 Best Small Car award, which is the third year in a row that the Civic has won this specific award. With two new high-performance versions of the Civic — the Civic Si and Civic Type R Hatchback — drivers can now get a little-added power under the hood while still getting a great deal on a small car.
2018 Best Family Sedan Award
Next, the Honda Accord won the 2018 Best Family Sedan award. The Accord has the perfect combination of luxury and space, offering a four-door design that’s roomy enough for most families. There’s also a wide range of safety features, which is ideal for those who want added peace of mind on the road.
2018 Best Minivan Award
The 2018 Best Minivan award went to the Honda Odyssey, which Motor Week credits with saving the segment: “While the minivan segment is no longer the sales juggernaut that it once was; a big reason that it even still exists today is the Honda Odyssey.” Reliable and loaded with features, you can’t go wrong with the Odyssey.
Each of these award-winning vehicles is available for test drive at Russell Honda in North Little Rock, AZ now, and we would be happy to show them to you.
What happens when you combine Honda-level reliability with mid-size sedan comfort and intelligent, hybrid efficiency? You get the new Honda Clarity PHEV, the latest model to join the Honda lineup. The Clarity PHEV is modeled after the Honda Accord mid-size sedan, so it’s a roomy hybrid option. Add to that a price tag starting at just $33,400 and a 47-mile battery range, and it’s clear that the Honda Clarity PHEV is an amazing option.
It can be hard to make the leap to a hybrid vehicle, especially when you note that the price tag—though very reasonable—is around $10,000 higher than the base-level Accords at Russell Honda. However, the Honda Clarity PHEV has an EPA MPGe rating of 110, and will probably perform most in-town driving without relying on gasoline at all, so that drivers of the Clarity PHEV can expect to spend significantly less at the gas pump.
In addition to being exceptionally efficient, the Honda Clarity PHEV comes equipped with generous standard features that make its entire design feel as modern as its powertrain. Each trim comes with an infotainment system that’s equipped with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™. The Clarity PHEV also comes with standard advanced safety features.
If you’re curious about what this amazing Honda model can offer to you, then make sure to stop by Russell Honda for the answers.
Just because it is cold and frosty outside, that does not mean you and your family can’t have any fun. In fact, some places offer the most fun when the temperatures are below freezing. Here are some family winter trip destinations you can plan this year.
Go to Disney World. Nobody likes standing in staggering lines in sweltering heat. You can beat both of these things by going to Disney in the winter. Since Florida enjoys a mild winter, you likely won’t even need your coat.
Hit the Slopes. You don’t have to travel too far to reach some snowy slopes. Just north of Arkansas in Missouri there are two ski resorts, Hidden Valley in Eureka and Snow Creek in Weston.
Be an Olympian. Visit one of the former Olympic host cities, like Lake Placid, Salt Lake City, and others to try out some classic winter sports.
Visit National Parks. Even in the wintertime, our national parks are a spectacular sight. Take ranger-led tours, see amazing wildlife, and more all without the heat or the crowds.
Head to Texas. The Lone Star State offers a lot of fun for not a lot of money, making it an ideal spot for warm weather fun on a budget.
Which of these family winter trip ideas would you love to try? If you need a new vehicle before you hit the road, come visit us at Russell Honda.

In case you missed the parade, there is still plenty of holiday fun in the Little Rock area throughout the month. Try some of these holiday events.

We all have our holiday traditions, perhaps none more than Thanksgiving. Most families usually have the same dishes year after year, made by the same person, too. If you are ready for a change, here are five new Thanksgiving dishes you can surprise your family with.
This rich, creamy dessert will have everyone coming back for more. Serve it in a trifle dish or large glass bowl for a dish as beautiful as it tastes.
While some people prefer their stuffing from inside the turkey, once they taste this recipe, they might change their mind.
Grapefruit and Chicory Salad.
If you are searching for some lighter fare this year, try this tart salad that will leave you feeling refreshed.
Pepper Dinner Rolls.
With a hint of cracked black pepper, these rolls have some kick to them.
Fall and winter bring cold weather that ultimately affects road conditions throughout the United States. Here in Arkansas, the inclement weather can make roads dangerous and unpredictable. Fortunately, a properly-stocked car safety kit can help stranded drivers pass the time in comfort. We here at Russell Honda have a few recommended items and suggestions for your car safety kit.
For starters, your car safety kit should also double as a first-aid kit. Make sure to pack it with Band-Aids, hand sanitizer, antibiotic ointment, cotton balls, gauze, tweezers, and bug spray. If you plan on taking a trip, adding any medication to the kit is a good idea as well.
Packing a few emergency items in your safety kit can help you get back on the road faster or make waiting for roadside assistance safer. Road flare and jumper cables are two must-have items. Adding duct tape, a fire extinguisher, and a few rags can go a long way, just in case.
Fall brings cooler weather and winter is right around the corner. If your car safety kit doesn’t include seasonal items, it definitively should. Every vehicle should have an ice scraper, blankets, a flash light with extra batteries, and a small box of cat litter to create traction.
